Oktoberfest Grand Rapids is a service of Edelweiss Club of Grand Rapids and is run by volunteers. Starting in 2021, we’re partnering with Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) dog rescue in Grand Rapids. Since our festival is now dog-friendly, we wanted to ensure more dogs could find their forever homes!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Founded by Director Janelle McFarlane on November 23, 2011, Hearts of Hope’s dogs are provided with the best possible vet care, a safe place to stay and the love they deserve. We do not have a shelter facility. Our volunteer foster homes take these wonderful dogs into their homes until we find their forever families.

Pet overpopulation is a global crisis. Our local animal shelters are full of wonderful dogs that just need more time and help finding the right home. Many of our dogs come from these local county shelters. Hearts of Hope strives to help as many dogs as possible. If we are able, we will help. We know we can’t save them all, but it matters to the ones we can save.
